MUSIC UPDATE

To the fans of theBatcaveBelow, do not fret i have not forgotten you. In fact quite the opposite has happened, i have been thinking about you all more regularly mostly because I haven't had much to offer you as of late. This is because i haven't heard much recently worth talking about and i don't like to waste your time with an album i only partially enjoy.

So!!

I would love to hear from you guys, if you've heard something recently worth plugging TELL ME!! i would love to write about it be it recent, old, polka whatever? I am up for listening to any of it.

Leave a comment with the album name and artist, or an artist you enjoy and i will get on the ball directly, otherwise i continue to search for music worthy of your time.

love, gumpy

p.s. if you find yourself in a hardcore slump i would suggest checking out my boyfriends page CTS i think i might write about Third Memory today.

And to the cranky guy in the shoutbox, if your finding it hard to enjoy Pedro the Lion maybe you should grow a heart, i hear being able to comprehend human emotions helps with that sort of thing.

David Bazan - (2009) Curse Your Branches

myspace
1. Hard To Be
2. Bless This Mess
3. Please, Baby, Please
4. Curse Your Branches
5. Harmless Sparks
6. When We Fell
7. Lost My Shape
8. Bearing Witness
9. Heavy Breath
10. In Stitches

Do you enjoy the gentle and haunting croons of Pedro the Lion? Do you consider yourself in the Indie Know? Do you have marginally good taste? Have you like me, been hard pressed to hear something worth listening to for more then 10 seconds? Then your going to like this record.
Very chill, lyrical intellect that consists of more then "word that rhyme with heart, and apart" and constantly very talented. Take a peek.

sounds like: Pedro the Lion, Walkmen

Arctic Monkeys - (2009) Humbug

sound: Indie/Poolhall
length: 10 songs, 39 minutes
myspace
01. My Propeller
02. Crying Lightning
03. Dangerous Animals
04. Secret Door
05. Potion Approaching
06. Fire And The Thud
07. Cornerstone
08. Dance Little Liar
09. Pretty Visitors
10. The Jeweller's Hands

Can't decide if i haven't listened to this enough or if I'm still too surprised by it to formulate a true opinion. Still, the song My Propeller is arguably one of the grimiest and catchy little fuckers in Arctic history. Perhaps this record carries to much of the stain from a long break, or Alex's side project Last Shadow Puppets. This record is not What Ever Your Friend's Say... and it doesn't really feel like Favourite Worst so if you can't handle change don't bother. However if you'd like to hear a more mature and lax press from a good band by all means enjoy.

sounds like: Blood Red Shoes, Last Shadow Puppets, Rascals
