Things that Disappointed in 2009: Pt. I

*2009 in review is going to be a weird sort of disorganized mess, so bear with me. But i've decided regardless of how i felt about any of this stuff there will links to everything, so you can decide for yourself.

John Mayer - Battle Studies
Not that John Mayer is a musical guru or anything, but regardless of how you feel about the guy he can play the shit out of a fucking guitar. Unfortunately on this record, he doesn't really showcase any of that, its mostly that annoying raspy voiced simple chords crap like "your body is a wonderland".

Electro-Pop:


Discovery - LP
I like Ra Ra Riot + I like Vampire Weekend = one would think i would like this. Until it actually came out, and turned out to be a weird electro pop thing, which sort of works for the first song "Orange Shirt". Then completely looses my interest.

Indie/Punk/Poolhall:

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz!
Despite changing my tune about Fever to Tell, i just didn't really enjoy this record. Maybe i need to listen to it more, but it just didn't hook me. A little too electro, needed more rock from this press.
