Portland guys making records with all the oddities of a truly bohemian sound laced with a dance punk vibe. This record is exceptionally hip, every song is it's own gem boasting their own quirks. From the outlandish Night of the Horsepills to the catchy funk of Wicked Light Sleeper. Very So Many Dynamos meets We are Scientists. Try it out.

First they had the good sense to take their name from (in my opinion) one of the greatest novels of American Literature. Secondly they had the nerve to write songs using drowning in the great "human manifesto" and lyrical content becoming of an intellect and not a 5th grader. Then they had to go and be a bunch of talented musicians and a group of guys who genuinely love music?
Here is an album that never falls into the cliche of sounding like one giant 30 minute song, and a band that never ceased to switch it up on their fans. Damn entertaining, solid West Egg material.

I actually cannot believe this isn't already on here. Instant Classic. If you've already listened to Vices or New Medicines then check your expectations at the door. This is without doubt the best Dead Poetic record to date. Still loud, still explosive, but not the ear splitting melodies of Glass in the Trees. This album is gorgeous and heartfelt, beautiful universal lyrics and heavy screams over just fucking Solid drums from Burgandy to Tell Myself Goodbye. Honestly if August Winterman weren't such a wrist splitter it would still be in constant rotation on my ipod, and StereoChild is still fucking righteous. Re-educate.
